Chinese President Hu Jintao and his U.S. counterpart George W. Bush met in Toyako, Japan on Wednesday on bilateral ties and other issues of mutual concern.

The two leaders met in the northern Japanese resort of Toyako on the sidelines of the Outreach Session of the Group of Eight (G8) summit.

At the talks, Hu said China-U.S. relations have maintained a good momentum in recent years, with the fourth China- U.S. strategic economic dialogue producing positive results.

The two countries have engaged in effective cooperation in many fields including trade and commerce, anti-terrorism measures, energy and environmental protection, said Hu.

On major international and regional matters such as the nuclear issues concerning the Korean Peninsula and Iran, China and the U.S. have kept up effective communication and coordination, he noted.

The Chinese leader emphasized the significance of the China-U.S. relationship, as it suits the fundamental interests of both the Chinese and the American people, and serves world peace and development.

He suggested that both nations continue constructive and cooperative relations, strengthen dialogue, so as to guarantee a healthy and steady development of bilateral relations.

On the Doha Round of trade talks, Hu said China has actively participated in the talks and has maintained an open market, thus fulfilling the obligations following its entry into the World Trade Organization.

On the Taiwan issue, Hu spoke of the recent developments in the cross-Straits situation, especially the resumption of talks between the mainland’s Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits and the Taiwan-based Straits Exchange Foundation following a nine-year hiatus.

China will adhere to the theme of peaceful development of cross-Straits relations, and promote exchanges and cooperation in economy, culture and other fields, he said.

Bush expressed his pleasure at the improvement of relations across the Taiwan Straits.

While drawing attention to the significant progress made at thesix-party talks, Hu also cautioned that all parties still have many more things to do in order to truly realize the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

Bush agreed that tangible outcome has been achieved at the six-party talks. He hailed the active participation of China in the negotiations, and hoped the second-phase action would be accomplished in a verifiable manner.

The two leaders also discussed the upcoming Beijing Olympic Games. Bush said he is looking forward to attending the opening ceremony of the Games with his family and enjoying the events.

Hu extended a warm welcome to Bush for the Olympics, saying that his wish to be present at the Games proves the U.S. leader values the friendship between the Chinese and American peoples.

Hu also expressed his gratitude to President Bush, the U.S. government and people for their condolences and generous assistance to the victims of the devastating earthquake that struck China’s southwestern Sichuan province in May.

It is a question that my friend asked me.I would prefer the ring from Tiffany’s…quality over quantity I always say when it comes to certain things. If you have not gotten it yet or put a payment down for the ring to be held try looking at the 1 ct. ascher cut in the legacy setting in platinum from Tiffany’s. I personally love that style and it is what my ring is only mine is a little bigger and has a canary diamond but you get the jist of things. A ring from Tiffany’s would make her feel really special and like you put a lot of thought into it versus getting her a mall ring from some store that has shitty customer service and is just after your money for their commission.
what about you?

Like the Five Olympic Rings from which they draw their color and inspiration, Fuwa will serve as the Official Mascots of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, carrying a message of friendship and peace — and good wishes from China — to children all over the world.

Designed to express the playful qualities of five little children who form an intimate circle of friends, Fuwa also embody the natural characteristics of four of China’s most popular animals — the Fish, the Panda, the Tibetan Antelope, the Swallow — and the Olympic Flame.

Each of Fuwa has a rhyming two-syllable name — a traditional way of expressing affection for children in China. Beibei is the Fish, Jingjing is the Panda, Huanhuan is the Olympic Flame, Yingying is the Tibetan Antelope and Nini is the Swallow.

When you put their names together — Bei Jing Huan Ying Ni — they say “Welcome to Beijing,” offering a warm invitation that reflects the mission of Fuwa as young ambassadors for the Olympic Games. Fuwa also embody both the landscape and the dreams and aspirations of people from every part of the vast country of China. In their origins and their headpieces, you can see the five elements of nature — the sea, forest, fire, earth and sky — all stylistic rendered in ways that represent the deep traditional influences of Chinese folk art and ornamentation.

As the eastern bridgehead of the New Asian-European Continental Bridge that begins in the east from Lianyungang City of China and ends in the west to Rotterdam of the Netherlands, Lianyungang is an international trade passage connecting two big international markets of Asia and Europe.

With beautiful mountain and sea scenery, abundant historical sites and a pleasant climate, Lianyungang is one of the country’s 49 key tourist cities, and one of the three biggest nature reserves in Jiangsu. The coastal scenery is very special, with mountains side by side with the sea, making the city an ideal summer resort. Huaguo Mountain, from where the Monkey King comes, and different kinds of flowers and fruit grow all year round, is located in Liangyungang. The road on top of Huaguo Mountain leads to Yuwan, where there is a succession of water falls over the cliffs (the highest over 40 meters). There are also the quiet Suchen Town; the strange sea of rocks in Donglei; the refreshing Donghai hot springs; the ancient Haizhou City which cost RMB 200 million in its reconstruction; the primitive totem cave murals 5000 years old; also the country’s earliest Buddhist images 200 years older than the Dunhuang murals; and the site from where Xu Fu started his trip east to Japan in the Qin Dynasty. In short, Lianyungang features a variety of attractions: seaside and hotsprings, ancient and mythological sites, strange geological formations and oases of tranquility.

The Chinese diet might be one of the healthiest in the world. In fact Chinese food is a favorite of both the native Chinese and foreigners alike Today.

The history of Chinese food is an interesting one. Unlike many cultures the Chinese believe that the preparation of food is an art and not simply a craft. The art of cooking Chinese food can include dishes and food preparation techniques which are difficult to develop and may require the expertise of a chef with lots of experience.

Chinese used to have their dinner together with all the family members, sitting around a table and each person will have one set of dining tool in front of them, including two bowls which one for rice and another for soup, one pairs of chopsticks and one plate for meat / vegetable. They will share the food dishes which were made and put into the central of table, diners will only pick up the food from the dished which who want to eat. He will pick it and places it into the small plate in front of him.

There are so many traditional and special Chinese foods, such as Doufu,Dim Sum,Lobster, zongzi and so on.

Doesn’t mean it’s fake. Some jewelery just don’t have the name on there. Especially small jewelery like earrings or cuff links. You can try looking on the Gucci and Versace website to try to see if they offer the items you bought.

A necklace of white round pearls is a spectacular sight that adds to the personality of the wearer. Modern jewelry is very diverse and has come a long way since the earliest recorded jewelry made with stones, leaves, glass and bones. In the present day, the jewelry industry is fuelled by a renewed interest in artistic and leisurely pursuit.

The modern jewelry industry is the effort of jewelry designers who have personally advanced the concept of wearable art. Today, the industry employs the versatility of new materials like plastics and PMC or precious metal clay. The modern jewelry industry has adopted different coloring techniques and offers customers worldwide an increased variety in styles.

The modern jewelry industry is also aided by advanced techniques for the improved harvesting and the development of quality artificial gemstones. The replicates in no way look inferior and even generate the surreal brilliance. Stones such as moissanite quite amply replace the diamond within the modern jewelry industry targeting the budgeted population. Such techniques have placed jewelry within the economic ability of a wider population segment the world over. Today, the modern jewelry industry is catering to the demand for “jewelry as art” and the leading edge of artistic designs affordable by all.

Cultures from all over the world influence the modern jewelry industry. The popular bling style jewelry of the hip hop and rap artists has entered every adolescent’s wardrobe. The modern jewelry industry has moved on to the next level making world designs more accessible and blended within the intricate aspects that are contributions from the many different cultures and from varying points in time.

Today, the modern jewelry industry is largely influenced by the trend of extensive body modification and adornment. While piercing of the belly button and the eye brows is common in the Orient and Occident, there are still cultures that demand a wee bit more. The Padaung tribe extols women with long necks. The demand for necklaces that are worn from an early age keep increasing to ensure that the girls have slender long necks by the marriageable age

In the case of extensive body modification, the modern jewelry industry has numerous sub-categories of body art available and still being created for the world market. The jewelry used in body modification includes silver studs, rings and earrings. The jewelry created and marketed worldwide also caters to variations within cultural norms to tourist curiosity. The modern jewelry is a combination of body modification and decorative objects. The crossing over of cultural boundaries is the most significant feature of the art form marketed by the modern jewelry industry.

The current world market for jewelry caters to the demand for affordable and exquisite jewelry. The range available today is extensive and the symbolism of the jewelry flaunted has ceased to be the sole right of the socially affluent. People from all walks of life and with varying tastes and beliefs are now able to wear the jewelry of their choice, without any stigma attached.

Fake products are improving each day and most of the time only an experienced watchmaker can distinguish the difference. We have made this conclusion since the fakes watches are very similar to the “genuine” watches. Unfortunately, many people may have seen or purchased fake Rolex’s because they were not well-educated about the watches. Although a true connoisseur may quickly point out which is an original $5,000 Rolex from a $50 fake one, the countless number of fake Rolexes in the market can affect the demand. So Rolex allocates time and money every year to regulate fake watches. And thus the purity of the brand is long-lasting unlike other companies.

In the midst of countless counterfeits and crooked jewelers, we at Melrose continue to promote honesty and integrity. Every Rolex that we sell here at Melrose Jewelers is GUARANTEED to be a “genuine” product. We cannot emphasize this enough. While we personalize our watches by adding some features such as aftermarket diamond dials and bezels along with replacing stretched out links or bands on certain models, rest assured that every watch that we sell is 100% “genuine” Rolex.

In order to ensure that you purchase a “genuine” Rolex, there are many procedures that you can follow. A “genuine” Rolex is perfect in every aspect such as detailing, quality and craftsmanship. We strongly advise you to visit your local Rolex Dealer and inspect the different types of Rolex watches. Feel the quality of the watch and you should be able to tell an authentic Rolex strap from a fake one. To increase your knowledge and awareness of the Rolex watches, question your sales representative on various features of a genuine Rolex watch. Learn more about its uniqueness, functionalities etc.

Research other ways that will help you understand and distinguish a fake from a “genuine” watch. The Rolex Report, An Unauthorized Reference Book for the Rolex Enthusiast, 4th Edition by John E. Brozek, is strongly recommended. First time buyers as well as frequent buyers recommend this informative book. Over 300 pages of relevant material which saves research time when one is considering purchasing a genuine Rolex, especially if it is a pre-owned watch.

Professionals use four main verification methods to tell a fake from a “genuine” Rolex. These methods include checking the serial number, model number, case back ID, and Movement Signature. In essence, look between its bottom lugs (part where the band connects to case), top lugs and opening the case back. This is the most efficient way to distinguish between a “genuine” and fake Rolex.

Clear Case backs – Notice that Rolex does not make watches with clear case backs. So if you find one that has a clear case back it is definitely not a “genuine” Rolex watch.

Engraved Case backs – No logos or slogans are engraved on a Rolex case back. You won’t even find any engravings on it. The only exception to this case is the Ladies model (circa 1990’s) and the “Sea-Dweller” model.

Hologram Stickers – A simple way to distinguish between a fake and a “genuine” is to check the case back. A “genuine” Rolex watch comes with a 3-D hologram-encoded sticker on the case back. Moreover you can clearly identify the Rolex “crown” trademark which is place right above the case reference number. In most cases, the 3-D effect is not even identifiable in a fake hologram sticker.

Date Magnification – Common errors made by replicas include the cyclops being much smaller and not aligned properly, a large font date is another feature to fool a customer. With the case of genuine watches, all of the genuine ones feature the cyclops that magnifies the date by 2.5x, the only exception being the “Sea-Dweller”.

Triplock Crown Seal – The three Rolex models, namely the Sea-Dweller, Submariner and Daytona feature the “Triplock crown”. While a replica does not have a seal, a genuine Rolex uses the extra seal by the rubber o-ring on the winding tube. This is worth a mention as many original Rolex parts and accessories can also be replaced by fake ones, and so in the cases of pre-owned Rolexes this should be kept in mind.

Micro-etched Crystal – The Rolex “coronet” or “crown” just under the 6 o’clock marker was micro-etched on all Rolexes from the year 2002. If you use a jeweler’s loupe, you will notice that in comparison to a replica, the “genuine” crown is much more evident and robust. In addition, fake ones have a poor overall design.
