How to Make Zong Zi?

Zong Zi - a glutinous rice dumpling wrapped in bamboo or reed leaves. It is meant to honor Qu Yuan (340-278 BC.), the pioneer poet of ancient China.Today, people commemorate Qu Yuan through dragon boat races, eating zongzi and other activities, on the anniversary of his death, the Dragon Boat Festival(the 5th of the fifth month).

The main ingredient of Zong Zi is the glutinous rice. The next most important ingredient is the bamboo or reed leaves which form the wrapping and make Zong Zi distinct from other types of Chinese dumplings. The filling often contains either dates or sweetened red bean paste.
Here is a easy recipe for Zong Zi:1. 50 sheets of bamboo or reed leaves
2. Glutinous rice (1 kilogram)

Method
1. Soak rice overnight
2.Wrap a bit rice in dumpling leaves, tie up with straws.
